Route selection
How the site picks the best place to buy.
While the curve is active, AFLOS can be bought from two places: the curve and the pool. Each has its own price that moves freely, and sometimes one is cheaper.
How the site decides
- Take a real quote from the curve for the amount you entered.
- Take a real quote from the pool for the same amount.
- Also work out the possibility of splitting the order across both.
- Pick the option that returns the most AFLOS, then execute exactly that route.
The figure shown on screen always comes from the route that is actually executed — never from a better route that then gets ignored.
Splitting an order
When both venues are priced similarly, splitting the order across them returns more than putting the whole order in one place. Buying from two venues is executed in a single transaction, so you still only sign once.
Why nothing is hard-coded
Both prices move with the market. At one point the pool may be far cheaper than the curve, then arbitrage closes the gap and it can flip the other way. So the choice is made from the quote at that moment, not from a fixed figure that quickly becomes wrong.
